New Favorite Thing

Oh man my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I'm so glad the nearest Chick-fil-A is in the next town over.  I would be getting one of these everyday and that would not be good.

Photo Friday

Well I guess I started my blog at kind of a bad time.  Everything that I am working is for Christmas and I don't want to spoil any surprises.  So there won't be to many crafting posts.

Anyway, photo Friday.  These are some pictures I took October 2009.  We had a great time playing in the leaves.

Hannah loved playing in them.

Claire wasn't to sure about them.

This is a great picture of Ben.  But I love Hannah in the background.  She was waiting her turn to run and jump into the leaves.

I don't really know why she had a pool ring on.   She was jumping with it.  It was cute.

This is our other baby, Buddy.  He wanted to play too.
And he got into it.

Enjoy,

Photo Friday

This week has been a little crazy. And I forgot my camera for every event we went to.  Going to try and do better next time.  Anyway, I'm going to try and post at least one picture on Friday and tell a little tale about it.  Here is the first one.

What a picture.  Claire was playing around our Explorer.  The hitch was on it and it was greasy.  Every time she ran around the car she would touch it.  Then proceed to touch her face and clothes.  And as you can see she had a white shirt on, of course.  By the time I say her it was to late.  She was in the bath tube for quite a while that night.

Enjoy,

One piece of fabric.

Found this piece of fabric in a remnant bin at Hobby Lobby .   The fabric was from a Alexander Henry collection. It was almost a half a yard, I think.  The colors caught my eye so I bought it.  And when I unrolled it I was pleasantly surprised.  This is why.  It was all about sewing.  Sewing machine, scissors, rotary cutter, pin cushion with pins and a tape measure.

Thread, needle, thimble and even a pattern.  Anyway I have been wanting to recover my computer chair, which is now my sewing chair .  And this fabric was perfect for it.

So that is what I did.  And it turned out great.

I also had this box that I like to keep all my pins and needles in.  It needed some color so..

I used some piece for that.  And it turned out pretty good too.

I still had some pretty good pieces left, an empty picture frame and some burlap and poof..

Something to hang on my bare wall.

What a great piece of fabric!!!
Enjoy,

Signed the papers!

We finally signed the papers for our newest house this week.  We have been moved in since Memorial Day weekend, so that's what, 4 almost 5 months.  Anyway we moved from IN to SC a almost 10 hour trip and what a move it was. We moved a family of 5 a cat, a dog, 3 vehicles and everything that goes with them.  Doug drove the kids, Frisky (our cat) and me down to SC.

This picture was taken when we had first got there.  We borrowed the truck and trail from a guy Doug worked with.  We got almost everything in the trailer.  Doug was awesome when it came time to pack the trailer and driving and everything else.  We had to unload everything and get some stuff settled before the weekend ended because Doug had to go back to IN, finish two weeks at his old job and finish cleaning for the renters moving into our old house.  Anyway here's some pictures of the house.

This is the side porch of the house.  I love it!!

Kitchen.  Somethings need a little up dating but still not bad.  Doug has already changed out the dishwasher.  Love the windows.  They look out to the side porch.

This is what the girls' room looks like when it's clean which is almost never.  We will be pulling the rug out and hoping the hardwood floor underneath is in good shape.  Also Hannah wants to paint it pink and purple.

This is what Ben's room first looked like.  It now is painted blue and the carpet is gone. The hardwood for was in great shape so Doug just polished it up.  I don't know why I haven't taken any recently.
That's all the pictures of the house I have right now.  I will have some of the side porch shortly cause that's what I started working on last week.

Enjoy,

Garden apron

Finished it!!  Even though I caught the kids cold, I got the garden apron finished.  I got the pattern from my favorite sewing book.  It's called One Yard Wonders  by: Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins.  The instructions and patterns are very easy to follow.  I love it!!  Can't wait for the new one to come out.

Weekend Update

We'll start with Friday.  Hannah had to get four shots on Friday.  I hate it.  I have always hated it.  One of the worst things mommy's have to do for there baby's.  Couldn't doctors find an easier way to give kids vaccinations.  It would be so much easier for everyone involved.  Anyway Hannah did such a great job.  She cried for a few minutes and was smiling again before we left the office.  What a big girl.

After picking Ben up from school, the kids helped me put our suitcases in the car.  They were very excited to be going to their Memaw and Papa's house for the night.  They are my wonderful in-laws.  I don't have a recent photo of them to share.  Anyway, we had a nice night visiting with them and with a great lady that we use to attended church with.  Saturday, us ladies went shopping and Papa took the kids the the park.  When it was time to go there were a few tears but I told them we would see them again soon.

On our way home we stopped at a big fruit stand.  They had a corn maze and hay ride going on too.  This is the place Strawberry Hill.

They had tons of pumpkins.

The kids and Doug got some boiled peanuts.  I don't like them.

They all had to get their picture on the tractor

and here.  Poor Ben, the sun was in his eyes.

And this is my favorite photo of the day.

We had a great time.  The rest of the weekend was restful and relaxing.  Even got a good start on the garden apron.  Hope yours was the same.

Enjoy,

Wow! I started a blog

My 1st blog and post.  I have been wanting to try one for so long.  Just decided to go for it.  The title of my blog is Family. Fabric. Photos.  It is just a little bit of what this blog will be about...

Family

This is my hubby Doug and I.  We have married 10 years this past August.  He is great.  He works so hard which allows me to be a stay-at-home to our wonderful children.  He is my rock.

Speaking of children here they are.

Ben is 6, Hannah is 4 1/2 and Claire is 2 1/2.  They are the best and greatest kids ever!!  The rest of the family will be introduced later, I'm sure.  Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, animals, Grandmas, Grandpas, and my friends will come later.  I promise.

Fabric

I love fabric.  Looking at it, buying it, and sewing it.  How people can come up with some of the designs just amazes me.  It can be so inspiring.  Love love love it.

These are a few pieces of fabric just laying around.

This will be a garden apron.  Hope to get it done for a raffle basket at Ben's school.

This will be something for Ben, someday.

I just love all the colors in this one.  Not sure what I'm going to make with it yet.
I don't just love fabric, I love to create things for people.  I love projects of all kinds.  Here are just a few thing I've made in the past.

Made this for my cousin for Christmas last year.

A little spring project.

And a dress for Claire.

Photos

I love taking pictures of everything.  Some turn out and some don't but I still love it.  I have never taken a class so I am learning from every picture I take.  Here are just a few things that I take pictures of.

My crazy and cute kids.  Yes, that is a basket on Claire's head.

Pretty Flowers

All kinds of animals.  These two are at the Greenville Zoo.

 Beautiful sunsets

and magnificent landscapes.

That was just a tidbit of what you will see here.
How's that for my first post.  Hope you all enjoy,
Becky
